WELCOME MR. OLIVER MOLINA, OUR NEW ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF BANDS!

 

Oliver Molina will be coming to us from Orlando, FL where he was the Associate Director of Bands and Director of Percussion at University High School. At UHS he taught concert bands, marching band, percussion ensembles, jazz band, steel band, a keyboard elective class, and a competitive indoor percussion line.

Mr. Molina is currently a doctoral candidate in Percussion Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Iowa with a secondary concentration in wind band conducting. While at Iowa he served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant with the Hawkeye Marching Band and as the instructor/arranger for the Hawkeye Drum Line. He earned a Master of Music degree from the University of Arkansas where he was a Teaching Assistant within the percussion studio and with the Razorback Marching Band as the drum line and front ensemble instructor. He earned his Bachelors of Music Education from the University of Central Florida.

Mr. Molina has worked with and arranged for many programs across the United States. He was a member of the Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps and the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps and served on the staff for the Magic of Orlando Drum and Bugle Corps from Orlando, FL and the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps from Dubuque, IA.

Mr. Molina is an education endorser of Pro-Mark Sticks and Mallets, Remo Drum Heads, and Sabian Cymbals. His professional affiliations include the Percussive Arts Society, College Music Society, and the Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society.
