Color Guard
Adding color and excitement to all Demon Band performances is the 40-member "NSU Color Guard". Both flags and rifles, as well as other props, are used to enhance the performance of the "SON". Auditions will be held for the Colorguard in the in the NSU Bandroom on April 17, 2010 and in the NSU Health and P.E. Majors Building on May 1, 2010.

Demon Dazzlers
The Demon Dazzlers continue to serve as the official jazz line for Northwestern State University, performing for NSU Demon pep rallies, football and basketball games. The Demon Dazzlers blend the styles of precision movements to produce a unique style of precision-jazz dance. Auditions for the Demon Dazzlers will be held on April 17, 2010 at the NSU Health and P.E. Majors Building.

Purple Pizzazz
The Purple Pizzazz serves as the official spirited hostess group for Northwestern State University, specializing in hip hop/funk dance, chants, and short Pom routines.  Auditions will be held on April 25, 2009 at the NSU Health and P. E. Majors Building.

Twirlers
The NSU Feature Twirlers are an important aspect of the entertainment presented by the "Spirit of Northwestern" in each performance. In addition to three and four baton routines, the NSU Feature Twirlers frequently twirl sabers and knives. Auditions for the Feature Twirler(s) position will be held on March 6, 2010.
